MD802 Recently purchased. Will not communicate with a 1999 Daewoo Matiz using 12 pin to 16 pin adapter. Does the MD802 cover this vehicle's protocol? I can select it from the tool's menu when it is connected to the vehicle but I can go no further when I select the engine, immobiliser or airbag module for scanning.

You mean, this Daewoo DLC is a 12 pin connector? If so, how can you use our MD802 diagnostic cable to connect to your car?

Yes of course, the Daewoo DLC has a 12 pin connector and I used a 12 pin to 16 pin cable adapter to connect it to the MD802, as Autel states is required for pre OBD 2 vehicles (the Autel adverisement for the MD802 refers to the need for an 'optional adapter' for these vehicles) I am surprised you should not be aware that an adapter is required in this case, or for other vehicle makes which do not have 16 pin DLCs, because the MD802 is advertised as suitable for All Vehicles, All Systems, and particularly as suitable for use on those vehicles pre OBD 2 and not 16 pin DLC, as with the Daewoo Matiz . As I said in my post I can select the Daewoo Matiz exactly from the MD802 menu when connected to the vehicle but the tool will not communicate with it. So, do I need a 'special' Autel 12 pin to 16 pin adapter that will enable the tool to communicate? If the Daewoo protocol is not covered I will be annoyed with Autel because the tool will not do what it is advertised to do, which is wrong and misleading.

One sentence is correct. Yes, you will need a Autel 12 pin adaptor to read this car. Not any adaptor in the market.

Reply to 4 floor: Thank you for the confirmation that I need an Autel 12 pin adapter to enable my MD802 to communicate with a Daewoo Matiz. Can you please advise where I might buy this adapter (preferably within the UK). I have searched the internet but I have not been able to find Autel adapters for sale, other than those that are supplied as accessories with the DS708.

I am afraid the DAEWOO -12 pin adaptor which is DS708 accessory is what you are looking for. Besides ,

Reply to 6 floor: I am not able to understand your reply as it seems incomplete. If what I am looking for is the GM/Daewoo 12 pin adapter which is included as an accessory with the DS708 then I assume it is the 'optional' adapter that I need in my case. If this is so can you please advise how I might obtain one. If you advertise that the MD802 will work with pre-OBD2 vehicles with the use of an optional adapter, and I take you at your word and buy the tool, I am entitled to expect you to be able to supply it.

Sorry I am suddenly off line. If you want to test a Pre-OBDII car, you will need the optional adaptor and a MD801 cable.
